Position: Software Development Intern

InstaMed’s mission is to transform the healthcare payment process for healthcare providers, payers and patients so that their payment experience is simple, reliable, secure and convenient. InstaMed’s solutions are delivered via its proprietary, cloud-based platform and network. InstaMed is institutionally funded with operations in Center City Philadelphia and Southern California. We are seeking motivated candidates to intern with our dynamic and growing company.

This position will involve software interface development: analyzing, designing, building and testing interfaces to both healthcare trading partners (primarily in ANSI X12 Electronic Data Interchange [EDI] Format), and to financial industry trading partners using a variety of formats. Experience with EDI is a big plus. We develop in Microsoft C# but expect that anyone with a strong understanding of modern computer science principles and languages will be productive quickly. You will report to the Manager of Application Development. There is a large opportunity to grow professionally and advance your career.

Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

• Deep understanding of software development, code principles and applications
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong experience in C# (preferred, this is what we use), C++ or Java
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL

Specific Job Skills Include:

• Ability to quickly acquire and apply new technical and industry knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical skills in software application and database development

Experience/Requirements:

• No prior experience necessary
• Bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s degree in progress
• Minimum 3.3 GPA
