BILL MARVIN - President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder - Before founding InstaMed, Bill was an executive in Accenture’s Health and Life Sciences practice. Bill worked with senior executives at clients such as UnitedHealth Group, U.S. Dept of Treasury, WellPoint Health Networks and other large blues plans where he developed strategies and led projects in the areas of transaction processing, web-portals, provider adoption and medical management. Bill was also the founder and CEO of CareWide, which developed Microsoft-based software for managing provider offices and was acquired by Amicore, a joint venture of Microsoft and Pfizer, and now is a part of Misys. Bill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics and was a member of the varsity squash team. Bill has been involved as a member and active board member with several not-for-profit organizations.
CHRIS SEIB - Chief Technology Officer and Founder - Before founding InstaMed, Chris was an executive in Accenture’s Health and Life Sciences practice. Chris focused on architecting and delivering portal and connectivity solutions at clients such as UnitedHealth Group, WellPoint Health Networks, and many regional health plans. Chris has managed large teams of people in multi-project initiatives such as eCommerce development, software application development, and operations. Additionally, Chris has been involved in strategic development efforts regarding government health initiatives, consumer directed health plans, and direct connectivity between providers and payers. Chris has certifications and expertise in Programming, Architecture, Microsoft Technologies, Database Technologies, Networks, Network Architecture, Security and Project Management. Chris graduated Cum Laude from Harvey Mudd College with a BS in Engineering and a minor in Economics. Chris was also a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, captain of varsity water polo and an All-American. Chris is an avid fan of water sports including boating and surfing.
MARK KRAPELS - Chief Operating Officer - Before joining InstaMed, Mark was Director of Global IT Infrastructure at Shire Pharmaceuticals, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company with annual sales of over $2 billion. At Shire, Mark led the initiative to consolidate and centralize IT Infrastructure Services in Shire's new North American headquarters for the global delivery of Shire's IT services. Several multi-billion dollar acquisitions were integrated into this new infrastructure, which enabled Shire to support its rapid growth. Prior to Shire, Mark was an executive in Accenture's Global Architecture and Core Technology group, where he specialized in IT Operations, Outsourcing and IT Service Management/Delivery. The majority of Mark's clients were large global companies in the healthcare/life sciences and financial services industries. Mark graduated Cum Laude from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands with a MS in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications. He also completed a research program on high-speed indoor wireless data communications at King's College London, UK, the results of which have been published and presented at several IEEE conferences. In his free time, Mark enjoys racquet sports, traveling and spending time with his wife and children.
DAVID STRIDER - Executive Vice President of Business Development - David has over 30 years of experience as an executive in the payment industry. Before joining InstaMed, David was the Executive Vice President of Elavon, (formerly NOVA Information Systems, a subsidiary of US Bancorp) where he was responsible for Global Operations, North America Business Development and Strategic Planning. At Elavon, he had P&L responsibility for over $200 billion in Visa/MasterCard merchant sales. In this capacity, he led sales distribution via 1,500 financial institutions, 150 MSP’s, 200 VAR’s and national associations to generate 120,000 new accounts per year. Prior to Elavon, David was Chairman & Managing Partner of Banc One Payment Services and President of Banc One POS Services Corporation (now JP Morgan Chase). Prior to Banc One, David was Vice President of Merchant & Acquirer Relations for MasterCard International, Division Vice President and General Manager of Merchant Acquiring for National Data Corporation, and Vice President of Merchant Acquiring for First National Bank of Maryland, where David started his career in 1977. David has served on both the MasterCard and Visa Acquirer Councils for a combined 14 years. David graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Towson University in Maryland. In his free time, David enjoys boating and spending time with his wife and two children.
RICK WHITE - Vice President of Channel Management - Before joining InstaMed, Rick was an executive in Accenture’s Enterprise Architecture practice. Rick was a top-performing delivery lead and architect on large scale systems integration projects for clients in Financial Services and Health and Life Sciences. Rick specialized in Customer Relationship Management, integration technologies and data architecture, managing both onshore and offshore teams through all phases of the solution delivery lifecycle. Rick graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California, where he received the Edward W. Moses award for Advanced Writing and was a founder of the Delta Rho chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Rick enjoys creative writing, beach volleyball and spending time with family and friends.
JEFF LIN - Vice President of Channel Management - Before joining InstaMed, Jeff was an executive in Accenture’s Health and Life Sciences practice. Jeff managed and executed large systems integration and business strategy projects for numerous Fortune 100 companies generating tens of millions of dollars in revenue. Jeff’s experience and expertise includes a deep focus in the areas of sales and marketing, business intelligence, data warehousing, project management, data governance and operations. Jeff graduated from UCLA with a BS in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. At UCLA, he was elected President of Alpha Phi Omega and he was also involved in numerous other student organizations including UCLA’s Student Government. Jeff enjoys the great dining and cultural scene in Los Angeles and is an avid fan of college sports.
DR. JON NEAL - Vice President of Partner Channel Development - Before joining InstaMed, Jon was a Principal Consultant within Microsoft’s professional consulting organization. His clients included senior executives at Telcordia, J&J, Merck, Aventis, KPMG, and Accenture, where he helped with designing critical line-of-business solutions and developing strategies to effectively leverage technology to drive business benefits. Jon also acted as the technical and business liaison between Microsoft and Accenture’s Health and Life Science verticals to develop numerous joint ventures and go-to-market strategies that generated millions of dollars in Microsoft revenue. Jon’s roles crossed the spectrum from software design and development, to professional speaker and evangelist, business development and executive advisor. Jon also founded and was President of I-On Technologies, Inc., which provided software consulting services and solutions to the financial industry. Jon has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Lehigh University and graduated from Lafayette College with a BS in Computer Science, where he was also a member of the Men’s Rugby Team. Jon is a four-time APBA Stock Outboard Boat Racing National Champion, and multi-year high-point leader and Jon enjoys Scuba diving and downhill skiing.
ROY WRIGHT - Vice President of Payer Channel Development - Roy has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining InstaMed, Roy spent 14 years with Ingenix, a division of UnitedHealth Group, where he focused on providing revenue and connectivity applications to Health Systems, Integrated Delivery Networks, Payers and Academic Medical Centers. Roy also served as the Director of Operations for the healthcare consulting division, which focused on revenue cycle review, regulatory compliance and billing/reimbursement challenges for healthcare systems and multi-specialty physician groups. In this role, he also directed marketing, product development, project management, delivery and sales. His expertise revolves around understanding the transaction submission and reconciliation processes involving multiple decision makers across large complex healthcare organizations. Roy is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and is an avid musician, singer and song writer.
KEN MACNEAL - Treasurer and Director of Finance & Administration - Ken graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Accounting and Management. He spent the next four years with KPMG in the Assurance Services group. During his KPMG career, he was a Sr. Accountant performing financial audits on various types of organizations, and then a Senior Consultant in the Information Risk Management (IRM) practice. In the IRM practice as a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Ken focused on IT security analysis and consulting, specializing in SAS70 and general control reviews. Some of his KPMG clients included Keystone Mercy Health Plan, Temple University Health System, Rohm & Haas, Airgas, SEPTA, York, and Rollins Trucking. Ken also worked for EDS Corporation in their consumer loans and lines of credit outsourcing group. In this capacity, he spent four years in various operational and project leadership roles developing operational processes, driving productivity improvement, performing financial analysis and resolving client’s business issues and risks. Ken has also invested in residential real estate acting as accountant and property manager for his own rental properties. Ken is a member and active board member of several not-for-profit organizations. In his leisure time, Ken enjoys attending Celtic events, personal watercraft, motorcycles and antique convertibles.
FERNANDO YSON - Director of IT Infrastructure - Fernando has 20 years of experience in IT infrastructure management with WellPoint Health Networks and previously with Arthur Andersen. In his last five years with WellPoint, Fernando focused on Enterprise IT infrastructure redesign and capacity planning to support the organization’s major acquisitions which required inter-organization IT infrastructure convergence. Fernando is a CCNA, MCSE, Network+ certified IT professional and is experienced with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, HIPAA Compliance and Infrastructure planning. Fernando graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
