Bill Marvin

Bill is a healthcare technology visionary, entrepreneur, thought leader and operator. Bill’s deep experience and expertise in the healthcare payments and revenue cycle industries date back to 1993. He possesses an unwavering passion for leveraging technology to transform the healthcare payments experience for providers, payers and consumers.

Since co-founding InstaMed in 2004, Bill has led and scaled the company to power hundreds of billions of dollars in healthcare payments for providers and payers of all sizes nationwide. In July 2019, J.P. Morgan acquired InstaMed. Bill continues to lead InstaMed as CEO, and he is also Managing Director & Head of Healthcare Payments at J.P. Morgan.

Prior to InstaMed, Bill was an executive in Accenture’s Health and Life Sciences practice, where he worked with senior executives at clients such as UnitedHealth Group, U.S. Department of Treasury, Anthem and other large Blues plans to develop strategies and lead projects in the areas of transaction processing, web-portals, provider adoption and medical management. Prior to Accenture, Bill founded CareWide (now a part of Allscripts after three acquisitions), which developed Microsoft-based software for submitting electronic claims and managing provider offices. Bill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Jeff Lin
President, InstaMed

Jeff is the president of InstaMed and leads the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Payments business alongside Bill Marvin, CEO of InstaMed. In his role, Jeff manages the ongoing innovation, growth and execution of healthcare-specific solutions, including Healthcare Link and Disbursement Hub. Jeff and his teams are committed to delivering innovation to address administrative simplification for the entire healthcare payments market.

Jeff is a proven leader and innovator with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and payments. He hosts a monthly podcast with C-level industry executives and launched the InstaMed DE&I group in 2020. Since joining InstaMed in 2008, Jeff has held several leadership roles in Product, Operations, Sales and Marketing. Prior to InstaMed, Jeff was an executive at Accenture, where he led multiple enterprise projects for many Fortune 100 companies.

Chris Seib
Chief Technology Officer, InstaMed

Chris co-founded InstaMed in 2004 where he has led the vision and successful execution of building one platform for all forms of payment in healthcare. At InstaMed, Chris is responsible for all aspects of the product strategy, product delivery and technology. He combines expertise in financial technology, healthcare information technology and customer-centric design to drive the growth of the InstaMed Network which connects providers, payers and consumers and processes tens of billions of dollars in healthcare payments annually. Chris is a named inventor of multiple patents held by InstaMed.

Before founding InstaMed, Chris was an executive in Accenture’s Health and Life Sciences practice. Chris focused on architecting and delivering portal and connectivity solutions at clients such as UnitedHealth Group and WellPoint Health Networks and many regional health plans. Chris has managed large teams of people in multi-project initiatives, such as eCommerce development, software application development and operations. Chris was involved in strategic development efforts regarding government health initiatives, consumer-directed health plans and direct connectivity between providers and payers. Additionally, Chris serves on multiple corporate, industry, educational and non-profit boards. Chris graduated Cum Laude from Harvey Mudd College with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minor in Economics.

Richard M. Croswell
Chief Operating Officer

Rick is responsible for InstaMed’s Operations including Customer Service, Technical Excellence, Service Management, Professional Services/Implementations, Contracting/KYC, Payment Settlement and Administration. Rick’s organization supports the customer experience from the initial engagement, onboarding, implementation, reconciliation and ongoing servicing, for both internal and external customers.

Before joining InstaMed, Rick was Senior Executive Vice President of MBNA/Bank of America, where he had direct responsibilities over the past three decades for Marketing, Advertising, Product Innovation, and implementing and managing large scale operational strategies. He was directly responsible for the innovation, development and market delivery of the credit card industry’s first non-American Express ‘Platinum’ card. Rick also had direct responsibility for Operations Management, Global Customer Service call centers, IVR Development, Billing Disputes, Customer Retention and Customer Upsell, managing more than 2.5 million calls per day. Rick is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree and the School of Bank Marketing, Boulder, Colorado (graduate with distinction).

Mark Krapels
Chief Information Security and Controls Officer

Before joining InstaMed, Mark was Director of Global IT Infrastructure at Shire Pharmaceuticals, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company with annual sales of over $2 billion. At Shire, Mark led the initiative to consolidate and centralize IT Infrastructure Services in Shire’s new North American headquarters for the global delivery of Shire’s IT services. Several multi-billion dollar acquisitions were integrated into this new infrastructure, which enabled Shire to support its rapid growth. Prior to Shire, Mark was an executive in Accenture’s Global Architecture and Core Technology group, where he specialized in IT Operations, Outsourcing and IT Service Management/Delivery. The majority of Mark’s clients were large global companies in the healthcare/life sciences and financial services industries. Mark graduated Cum Laude from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications. He also completed a research program on high-speed indoor wireless data communications at King’s College London, UK, the results of which have been published and presented at several IEEE conferences.

Jon Neal
Head of Business Development, InstaMed

At InstaMed, Jon is responsible for the Business Development organization including new sales, management of existing customer relationships, partnerships with healthcare IT systems, sales operations and network development.

Before joining InstaMed, Jon was a Principal Consultant within Microsoft’s Health and Life Sciences division, managing the Microsoft and Accenture alliance in healthcare. Supporting a technical and business development background, Jon led strategic initiatives with clients (including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Aventis, GlaxoSmithKline and Accenture), both designing and launching critical line-of-business solutions, and developing go-to-market strategies. Jon was also involved in numerous other initiatives and verticals, including personally initiating more than a $100 million opportunity in the telecommunications industry. Prior to Microsoft, Jon was an independent consultant within the financial services industry, acting as lead software architect for several Wall Street firms. Jon graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Lehigh University with a Masters and Ph.D. in Computer Science.

Deirdre Ruttle
Chief Marketing and Commercialization Officer, InstaMed
Head of Healthcare Payments Marketing, J.P. Morgan

Deirdre leads healthcare marketing activities as Chief Marketing and Commercialization Officer at InstaMed and Head of Healthcare Payments Marketing at J.P. Morgan. Deirdre’s experience and expertise include a deep focus in healthcare payment research. Since 2013, she has led the delivery of the Trends in Healthcare Payments Annual Report to educate and inform the industry about the impacts of healthcare payments for all stakeholders: providers, payers and consumers. Prior to her current role, she held leadership positions in Marketing and Product Management at InstaMed. She worked closely with some of the country’s largest payers to roll out healthcare payment solutions for both B2B and C2B payments. Before joining InstaMed, Deirdre held senior marketing and product roles at alphabroder and Collages.net, where she led marketing strategy to drive usage of B2B and B2C e-commerce platforms. Deirdre graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
